01

How it works

The membership model What direct primary care changes.

So you don’t take my insurance?

I do not bill insurance for your everyday care. That gives us more time together and removes outside limits on the length or focus of a visit. You keep insurance for hospital stays, surgery, emergencies, and specialists. Your everyday care lives here with me.

I’ve never paid a monthly fee for a doctor. Why would I?

The monthly fee covers a doctor who knows you, unhurried visits when you need them, and direct messaging between appointments. There are no copays or surprise bills from Jhuma Medicine.

Is this a concierge practice?

Yes. Jhuma uses a membership-based model. Your routine primary care is provided directly by Dr. Daly rather than billed through insurance. That structure makes longer visits, continuity, and direct physician messaging possible.

Do you offer one-time visits?

Jhuma is a membership practice and provides care to members only. That is what allows the panel to stay small and visits to stay unhurried. A free Meet & Greet helps you decide before joining.

02

Insurance, labs, and prescriptions

Coverage for the big things; direct care for the everyday ones.

Do I still need insurance?

Yes. Please keep insurance for hospital care, surgery, emergencies, and specialists. Many families pair membership with a high-deductible plan, but an insurance professional should help you choose the coverage that fits your family.

How does membership work with my insurance plan?

Membership can sit alongside employer, PPO, HMO, or high-deductible coverage. Referral and testing rules vary, especially with HMOs, so review your plan with an insurance professional before making changes.

Can I use insurance for prescriptions and labs?

Yes. Prescriptions go to your pharmacy and can run through insurance as usual. For labs and imaging, you can choose Jhuma’s discounted cash pricing or use your insurance when that makes more sense.

Can I use an HSA, FSA, or health sharing plan?

Health savings and flexible spending dollars can often be used for labs, imaging, and medications. Whether they can cover membership depends on current rules and your plan. Confirm with your plan administrator or tax advisor. Dr. Daly is not a financial or tax advisor.

Can I join without insurance?

Yes. You are welcome whether or not you have insurance. Dr. Daly still recommends keeping coverage for hospital stays, surgery, and emergencies when possible.

What exactly is not included?

Membership covers your care with Dr. Daly. It does not cover hospital stays, surgery, emergency or urgent care elsewhere, specialist fees, imaging such as X-rays or MRIs, outside specialty labs, prescriptions, or vaccines. Dr. Daly helps coordinate those services.

03

Is it right for me?

Who benefits most from this kind of physician relationship.

My insurance is good. What am I getting that it does not provide?

More time, continuity, and direct access to a physician who knows your story. Insurance remains important for major medical needs; membership changes the experience of everyday primary care.

I’m healthy and rarely go in. Would I use this?

Preventive care is a large part of membership. The goal is to keep you feeling strong, catch small things early, and make sure a doctor who already knows you is there on the day you do need help.

Can you really be the doctor for my children and me?

Yes. Dr. Daly is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, allowing one physician to care for you and your children through changing seasons of life.

04

Cost and value

What membership includes, and how families think about value.

Can membership save me money?

It can, depending on how your family uses care. There are no copays for visits with Dr. Daly, no per-message charge, and no surprise bills from Jhuma Medicine. Added labs, imaging, and medications may be available at discounted prices. Prompt access can also help some families avoid unnecessary urgent care visits.

What does everyday care cost?

Visits, private messages, your annual physical, routine screening labs, in-office procedures, and rapid testing are included as described on the Membership page. Additional lab, imaging, medication, and vaccine costs are explained before you choose them. Exact outside-service prices change, so confirm current pricing with Dr. Daly.

Who is included in the family rate?

Everyone under your roof may join. No matter how many family members enroll, the household rate is capped at $1,200 per month.

05

What I care for

Women’s health and clear boundaries around the care Jhuma provides.

Do you provide Pap smears and women’s exams?

Women’s health is central to the practice. Depending on what you need, Dr. Daly provides routine care in the office or coordinates a screening with a trusted OB-GYN so nothing falls through the cracks.

Does the 4th Trimester Package include membership?

Yes. The package includes three months of Jhuma membership for postpartum care, with no obligation to continue afterward.

Do you prescribe ongoing opioids or benzodiazepines?

Dr. Daly does not manage chronic daily benzodiazepines and does not prescribe ongoing daily opioids except for cancer-related pain. She does not prescribe buprenorphine or methadone or treat opioid use disorder, but can help identify an appropriate specialist.

06

Billing, scheduling, and membership

Visits, billing, contracts, and the practical details behind membership.

Do you offer home visits?

One house call at home or your office is included each year. Added house calls are $500 within 10 miles, with a travel fee beyond 10 miles.

Am I locked into a long contract?

Membership begins with a three-month commitment. It then continues month to month, and you may cancel with thirty days’ written notice.

What does a founding membership include?

Jhuma is welcoming fifty founding families. Founding members keep their founding rate for as long as their membership remains active.

Can Medicare beneficiaries join?

Not at this time. Medicare beneficiaries may join Jhuma’s waitlist for future availability.

How does billing work?

Your monthly fee is charged automatically to the payment method you set up at enrollment, on the same day each month. There are no copays at visits and no separate Jhuma invoice each time you ask a question.

What is the cancellation and no-show policy for visits?

Life happens. There are no missed-visit or cancellation fees. Please give as much notice as you can so that time can be offered to another family.

07

Urgent needs, specialists, and hospital care

What happens when care extends beyond the practice.

Can I reach Dr. Daly after hours for an emergency?

Members have a direct urgent line day or night, and routine messages are answered within one business day. For a true emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room; do not wait for a reply.

What if I need a specialist?

Dr. Daly helps identify the right specialist, coordinates the referral, shares your history, reviews what comes back, and remains your steady point of contact.

What if I end up in the hospital?

Hospital care is covered through your insurance, but Dr. Daly stays involved, helps you understand the plan, coordinates with the hospital team when possible, and reviews the transition home.
